It sometimes seems that young people move at the speed of light. But, are they moving at the speed of "Right"?

Helping our future cultivate success by fostering positive relationships and personal growth

To be a success in life you must have hope. Developing hope requires personal leadership. Leadership for Life teaches young people how to cross the threshold that keeps them from developing hope in their lives. Participants learn how to create a personal ZWE culture wherein differences are understood and common goals achieved. Thereafter, many other life tasks become easier. As young people learn how to develop hope in their lives, they understand how cooperation and coordination are fundamental to personal success.

The program's curriculum and real world application assignments are founded upon over 20 years of university teaching and organizational consulting during which the best models and practices within the fields of education, sociology, psychology, business, and religion have been integrated and simplified. Consequently, participants enjoy a highly practical, interactive, and skill-based learning experience that allows them to quickly master the various interpersonal behaviors that compose Leadership for Life and create a personal ZWE culture.

The various interpersonal behaviors that define Leadership for Life are separated into eight, easy to grasp Tools. Each Tool focuses on a different facet of personal awareness or group performance. Throughout the workshops, participants use a Co-Study process in which they draw the Tool as it is being learned. Co-Study, along with Reflective Discussion, Power Talks, Role-Plays, and other highly interactive components provide the learning experience wherein understanding is achieved. Participants leave each session with a poster of the Tool(s) covered that can be used for review and practice. Also, those who attend multiple sessions and complete all eight Tools receive a ZWE Toolbox Poster that is framed and ready for hanging.

Those completing Leadership for Life may want to advance into Synergistic Leadership. The Synergistic Leadership Program culminates with a clearer understanding of how a ZWE organizational culture significantly improves each individual's ability, "to work with and through others to identify and achieve common goals."

SYNERGISTIC GROWTH PROGRAM

360° Performance Appraisal System
(SSD Level VI)

Overview

The ineffectiveness of traditional performance appraisal systems is well documented since the early 1980s. Organizations have searched for the right one in a way likened to the quest for the Holy Grail. Possibly, the problem lies in the fact that leadership keeps trying to find a performance appraisal system that better reinforces what it wants rather than seeking feedback regarding why its past efforts have not worked. Simply stated, followers will reach leadership's expectations when leadership builds more two-way commitment through enhanced two-way communication. This can be accomplished through a 360° performance appraisal system wherein both leaders and followers understand each others' perceptions.

The Synergistic Systems Design uses a 360° performance appraisal system embedded in our Synergistic Growth Program. It proposes a new model for performance appraisal based on the concept that as organizational members at all levels improve at "working with and through others to identify and achieve common goals" the onus for improving performance becomes each individual's responsibility. The 360° performance appraisal system allows each individual to see strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats created by personal behaviors. Gaps between "what is" and "what should be" are clearly understood. Decisions, then, can be made which either reduce or remove those gaps.

The Synergistic Growth Program begins with a baseline which rates each individual's behavior according to 8 leadership roles and 24 managerial skills. As a person becomes more effective in using the 8 leadership roles and 24 managerial skills, improvements are seen by both self and others regarding the accomplishment of more effective interpersonal working behaviors and achievements.

Organizational Impact

Each year following synergistic interventions, we conduct a 360° performance appraisal post-assessment. This provides individual and organizational feedback which specifically defines the areas and the amounts each person's interpersonal behaviors have improved.

The Synergistic Growth Program's effectiveness depends on the organization's culture nurturing its workplace acceptance and operational value. Ultimately, the organization's culture can evolve only to the level of its leadership's maturity and professionalism. IPANA has found that the Synergistic Leadership Workshop or Leadership for Life Workout creates the necessary changes within an organization's culture for the Synergistic Growth Program to succeed.

IPANA has generated and maintained a pre/post-assessment database which shows the impact of its Synergistic Leadership Workshop when combined with its Synergistic Growth Program (360° Performance Appraisal System). Survey findings show that the leadership behavior among participants (administrators, managers and supervisors) significantly improved. "Self" pre/post-assessment data indicated a 29.5% average improvement. Further, when the 828 "Others" who reported to these leaders were pre/post-assessed, the data showed a 41.1% average improvement in their perceptions regarding positive changes witnessed in their leaders' behaviors.

Brief Description

The Synergistic Growth Program can be administered through hard-copy, PC, LAN, WAN or downloadable from the web (we provide customers a customized download page). Data analysis is performed in Microsoft Access which uploads to a graphics generator that ultimately produces individual and organizational aggregated profiles.

Consulting & Advisement

You're not sure what you need, but you know your company needs "something"...

It's fair to say we are currently in rapidly changing times; at no other time in our history since the "Industrial Revolution" have we seen such dynamic and sweeping changes in the way we conduct business. At IPANA we truly believe that our programs can help an organization and its people weather these winds of change, however, this takes a commitment from leaders and managers that you may be uncertain exists.

This is where private consultation, advisement, and assessment can help determine the "readiness for change" within your organization and provide positive, constructive advice on what may be needed. This can make a world of difference before expenditures of limited resources and lay a fertile groundwork for growth and change by whichever vehicle you choose. Ultimately, we think that Leaderistics is the first choice and the right choice for positive change - but, organizations, as do individuals, must choose the path that suits them. We welcome the opportunity to discuss options, and visions with you.

WORKSHOP CONTENT

Leaderistics begins with each participant completing a comprehensive and totally confidential pre-assessment profile. This initial baselining of leadership abilities and managerial skills is fundamental to the program's success. Six months to one year after the workshop concludes, each participant is post-assessed to determine specific areas of long-term performance enhancement. The pre- and post-assessments consist of a self-assessment and an others'-assessment which give each participant both a self-evaluation and a 360 degree assessment by those working for or with that participant. Participants explore not only their leadership and managerial behaviors but also information about lifestyle balance, job satisfaction, personal stress levels, health, and personality traits, which impact their ability to effectively work with and through others to identify and achieve common goals. The Personal Profile data represents each participant's linkage with the workshop's material as well as the groundwork for personal and professional improvement. This Personal Profile provides each participant with valuable information from which to state specific personal goals and organizational visions to be achieved during this learning experience. Aggregated pre- and post-assessment profiles are used for instructional and organizational review.

Leaderistics is an application-based learning process that teaches a "Synergistic Leadership Toolbox." Follow-ups and post-assessments are unique features of Leaderistics which show organizational growth. The eight "Tools" in this "Toolbox" encompass a complete and practical approach to how leaders, both formal and informal, can become more effective at working with and through others to identify and achieve common goals. Each "Tool" uses specific "calculated behaviors" which produce proven outcomes.
